Bessie-isms and Quotable for July 23 & 24, 2016

Bessie-isms:

*Teenagers are amazingly guilt free at extorting money from their parents for all manner of things. The more you give in, the quicker they’ll be at asking for more. It’s your job as the adult to prevent an excess of such wicked mooching, without some effort from them to earn what they want. Assuming you wish them to move out before you retire.

*The person who loudly insists on “following my principles” probably doesn’t have any to follow. People who actually have principles are quiet, and busy following theirs.

Quotable:

Millions long for immortality who do not know what to do with themselves on a rainy Sunday afternoon.
