Bessie-isms and Quotable for May 22, 2015

Bessie-isms:

*Young children don’t play games regarding their needs. I want a drink,  a cookie,  a hug, cuddle me,  need to potty!  But as time passes, and they get older, that gets beat down, and suppressed, and we each lose that honesty, as we become fearful of being told to wait, of being told no. Especially all the things related to being hugged and loved. And thus we end up as so many are; reluctant and crippled.

*Our ancestors saw the night sky, and with it the stars. They were moved profoundly by that awesome display, and were moved to ask…why? Now living in light polluted canyons and city caves, we see and feel none of that. Is it any wonder we are withering, spiraling down into self-pity and self destruction, not dreaming of the universe, but of how to get stoned again, so we can forget the emptiness of our meager lives.

Quotable:

Property is the fruit of labor; Property is desirable; it is a positive good in the world. That some should be rich shows that others might become rich and, hence, is just encouragement to industry and enterprise.
